Capturing the behavior of living cells, especially at the single molecule level, can help elucidate the secrets of human growth, development, and disease.  To advance our knowledge of cellular proteins and functions, we are using quantum dot conjugates to track the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR), a membrane protein that acts as a gatekeeper of information and is the target of one-third of all drugs.
